Split is in beta right now

Split is fully built but not on the App Store yet. An open test phase via Apple TestFlight is running right now. Anyone can join. All you need is an iPhone running iOS 17 or later and the free "TestFlight" app. Do tell me what you find and what you miss.
Join in
The beta runs via Apple TestFlight. One tap on the button, TestFlight opens, and you install Split like a completely normal app.
What you should know
- You need an iPhone running iOS 17 or later. There is no Android version.
- The app is available in English and German. It follows your iPhone’s language.
- Purchases aren’t enabled yet. The prices are already in the app, but nothing is charged. On-device receipt recognition is free anyway.
- Your data is kept: the beta runs against the real server. I do reserve the right to reset the database once before release, though. So don’t build a bill on it that really matters to you.
- There are bugs in it. That’s exactly what the beta is for. The easiest way to give feedback is the TestFlight "Send Feedback" button or, in the app, Settings → About → "Report a Bug".
What happens with your data
The same as later in the store: groups and bills live on a server in Nuremberg, stored bank details are visible only to members of your shared groups and are stored encrypted, and receipt photos are never stored anywhere. There are no ads and no tracking. All the details are in the privacy policy; the terms of service apply to use.
A note on the beta: TestFlight distribution runs through Apple. Apple learns that you are a tester and provides me with anonymous crash reports and usage numbers. Apple’s TestFlight terms apply in addition.
